PRESS RELEASE

Lighthouse International Film Festival Presents the World Premiere of Chronicle of a Summer in Europe

Long Beach Island, NJ- June 3, 2016

A stunning, first person portrait of the greatest migrant crisis the world has ever known. CHRONICLE OF A SUMMER IN EUROPE shows the difficulties that refugees, government, and humanitarian volunteers alike all face in wake of unprecedented events. German Director Kristian Kiehling * spent the summer of 2015 traveling the Syrian refugee route from Malta and the Mediterranean Sea to England. Kiehling takes us alongside those displaced by war, economic despair, to see the innumerable frustrations they encounter and dangers faced on the refugee's journey. Kiehling brings to the screen a story of humans hoping for a better life, in this very timely raw human story. Featuring stunning images, vital reporting and incredibly important interviews with the migrants themselves, Kiehling documents a tremendously complex set of stories, sometimes at odds with what is being reported, but always human.

A tremendously important film depicting the current crisis taking part in the world, Lighthouse International Film Festival is proud to have German Director Kristian Kiehling* attend our 8th Annual Film Festival, and to have his World Premiere screening with us. This is a story that needs to be told. This is a story that we all need to see. This tragic story is told in our news programs and our newspapers daily. We know that this struggle and story still continues. See it first at The Lighthouse International Film Festival - on followed by Q & A from director Kristian Kiehling*. This film is skillfully put together in a manner that will move and incite you to action.(77m,Germany)
